CalmClick

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 15 July 2026

CalmClick helps you understand confusing things on your screen — suspicious texts, odd bills, scary pop-ups — by explaining a photo you take in plain language. This policy explains, in the same plain language, what information the app handles and what happens to it.

The short version

What information the app handles

1. Photos you choose to check

When you tap the button and take a photo (or pick one from your library), that photo is sent over an encrypted connection, through our relay server, to OpenAI's API, which reads the image and produces the explanation you see. This is the only moment any data leaves your phone.

2. Results and history

Explanations you choose to save ("checks") are stored only on your device. You can delete any check with a swipe, export your checks yourself, or turn on Auto-clear history to remove checks older than 30 days automatically. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.

3. Follow-up questions

If you ask a follow-up question about a result, the question is sent to the same AI service to be answered, under the same rules as photos: encrypted, not used for training, deleted after the safety period.

4. Trusted contact and profile details

If you (or a family member) add a name, language preference, or a trusted person's phone or email in the app, those details are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded anywhere. Calling or texting your trusted person happens through your phone's normal Phone and Messages apps.

5. What we don't collect

Permissions the app asks for

Children

CalmClick is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will be described in the app's update notes.
